Considerados por muchos, los padres del Ska. Y por lo tanto influenciadores del rocksteady & del reggae.

La banda original se disolvio en el 65 año en que Don Drummond mato a su esposa. Dos años despues murio en un centro psiquiatrico.

La banda reapareció reformada como grupo en el año 83 y en la actualidad siguen tocando, aunque la mayoría de componentes han sido reemplazados. Recibieron dos Grammy en 1996 y 1997.
